only of the total number of hotel occupants or guests in this

Colony (a small percentage consisting of "permanents", who do not

really constitute part of the hotel trade, which caters essentially

to "transients") are complaining of existing rates, Government

should have recognised the true equity and justice of the

representations made by Your Petitioners for the abolition of

control altogether and the manifest absurdity and injustice of

control in these circumstances whereas Government is seeking

without any justification whatsoever to impose control through the

aforesaid intended Ordinance. Your Petitioners therefore humbly

and respectfully plead for Your gracious intervention by way of

disallowance of the contemplated Ordinance and by way further of

directions to the Government of Hong Kong for abolition of control

altogether.

And Your Petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray, etc.
